Retain Hope Foundation Uganda Operates under a motto "Charitable work is the hope for the disadvantaged”. REHFU is a recognized nonprofit Community Based Organization (CBO) that provides various forms of charitable assistance to the underprivileged. Its registration number is BTSC/216/2022.
The organization's founding was based on the idea that vulnerable people, particularly street children and those battling drug addiction, needed assistance of all form because they can not afford the basics of life given the hard life which they live.

Life on the street has constantly exposed children to injuries, infections, and malnutrition, malaria, flue, intestinal infection, skin rashes etc. With our limited means, we have offered first aid, buy basic medicines, and sometimes take them to health centers. For example, we have treated skin infections from poor sleeping conditions. These small efforts save lives and prevent worsening illnesses.

Food is one of the greatest needs for street children, many of whom survive on leftovers or begging. With our limited resources, we organize feeding programs, especially on weekends, where we provide simple meals like posho, rice, bananas, meat, sodas, water. Every plate of food not only keeps them nourished but also gives them hope hence staying with good life.

Street children have often turned to drugs like glue or alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, ice, etc to cope with hardship. We meet them where they are, listen to their struggles, and counsel them about the dangers of addiction and crime. Through outreach, we share stories of former street children who overcame addiction, inspiring hope for change.

Sports help keep children active and away from crime. We engage them in football, running, and racing, sometimes organizing matches with community teams. These activities build teamwork, discipline, and confidence, while giving them joy and reminding them of their talents and potential.

Street children are often wrongly suspected of crimes due to stigma. We step in to defend them, ensuring they are not unfairly judged and punished. For instance, when some boys were falsely accused of theft, we intervene at the police stations and secure their release. Such efforts protect their rights and future.

For a child who has slept on cold streets, a mattress on the floor and a simple rented room in a slum mean safety, dignity, and rest. To them a starting home does not have to be perfect, it only needs to be safe. Through basic shelter support, including simple rent, mattresses, bedding, cook stoves, blankets and a secure place to sleep, we protect children from the dangers of the streets. Here, they can rest peacefully, regain hope, dream again, and begin the journey of healing and rebuilding their lives.
Every day, street children in Uganda face hunger, illness, and danger. At Retain Hope Foundation Uganda, we believe no child belongs on the streets. With your support, we provide meals, basic healthcare, counseling, protection, and help reunite children with their families. Every donation helps restore hope, dignity, and a safer future for a child. Stand with us. Give hope. Restore Dignity. Change a life
